My name is Sourik Banerjee. I am currently appointed as a Lecturer at the Department of Economics of Albers School of Business and Economics of Seattle University. I completed my Ph.D. in Economics from the Department of Economics of University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) in December, 2021. My primary research interests include Financial Economics, Open Economy Macroeconomics and Financial Crises,  but I am also interested in Resource Economics. My research focuses on general equilibrium overlapping generations (OLG) models and the reasons behind the premature exit of countries from International Monetary Fund (IMF) programs.

As a graduate student, I have also worked as a Teaching Assistant for a number of courses in the Department of Economics at UNR like Intermediate Macroeconomics, Introduction to Econometrics, Econometrics II, Introduction to Economics, Comparative Economics Systems, International Trade, Economics of the Firm, International Monetary Relations and Advanced Macroeconomics II.

As a primary course instructor, I am teaching Principles of Macroeconomics at the Department of Economics of Seattle University. I have also taught Principles of Macroeconomics, Intermediate Macroeconomics and Money and Banking as a primary course instructor at UNR. I have also conducted the two-week long Math Camp for first-year Ph.D. students at the Department of Economics of UNR during the Summer of 2020.
